Ok, when I can't be clever, creative or anything in between, I will blah and yada.
So, today is Monday, November 20, already! Thanksgiving is three days away.
Last night I watched a program on the History Channel about the history of Thanksgiving Day. I found it to be quite interesting - most things I did not know. One fact surprised me (though, it shouldn't have): back in the 1920's when football was gaining popularity, it was the good ole Detroit Lion's who combined Thanksgiving Day with the game and made it the big event that it has become. I know that the Lions play every year on Thanksgiving Day, because, coming from a family where football ranks higher than almost anything, our turkey dinner is always after my brother-in-laws return from the game . . . pissed off and hungry.
I am fortunate this year, since I had the big Halloween bash, my sister is preparing Thanksgiving dinner at her home and all I have to do is show up. Sweet!

Thanksgiving. I sometimes watch these holidays arrive and try and bring up some of the same emotion as other people. I wonder if I am missing something.
My best thanksgiving...two best? The year after my divorce. I wasn't invited anywhere...so I got up late, watched football, went out to dinner, and saw a movie.
All in all..it was wonderful.
Last year was also good. My wife and I avoided all family and ended up at Damon's, watching the Lion's lose while drinking and eating to our hearts content.
By the way, when I mention The Lions, I don't use that word in association with Detroit or Michigan. That is because neither Detroit nor Michigan have a professional football team.
Stewart is correct about the Lions. They are unprofessional.
Oh good gosh, boys, stand behind your team!
Happy Thanksgiving, Pythia.
Susan...allow me a rant.
NO. UNLESS YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE A FAN OF THIS TEAM. EVIL. I AM CONVINCED FORD AND MAT MILLEN FEED OFF OUR DISAPPOINTMENT AND DRINK OUR TEARS.
EVERY SEASON THERE ARE PROMISES. EVERY SEASON THERE ARE BITTER DISAPPOINTMENTS.
I WILL NEVER FORGET THE YEAR THAT I WATCHED THE RECEIVERS COME OUT...OH HERE'S ROY WILLIAMS, CHRIS ROGERS, AND MIKE WILLIAMS. AND WITH KEVIN JONES? SURELY NOW JOEY HARRINGTON WILL COME INTO HIS OWN AND THIS TEAM WILL COME TO FLOWER.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
THINK OF ALL THE FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS WHO HAVE COME TO MICHIGAN TO DIE. I WATCHED THE MICHIGAN OHIO GAME THE OTHER DAY AND POINTED AT THE OHIO QB. "THAT POOR SONOVABITCH IS HEADED OUR WAY," I PREDICTED.
DETROIT..WHERE COACHES COME TO DIE. LOOK ON WOODWARD AND FIND THE CARCASSES OF WAYNE FONTES, STEVE MARIUCCI, BOBBY ROSS, GARY MOELLER, WAYNE RODGERS.
OKAY..I'LL STOP NOW.....I'll turn the caps off and take a deep breath. I'm going to go lie down.
Stewart, thanks for this . . . I can share this with my brothers-in-law and we will all have a good holiday belly laugh!
Happy Thanksgiving
And Dear Lord I pray for Stewart not to be disappinted this day! Amen.
